The children at St Agnes are some of the poorest that we have in our care - but they are like all children, full of dreams and optimism.  The school opened in September 2009, and during the summer of 2010 the Ministry of Education honoured us by asking that we take over the government school at La Democracia, where we now house our preschool, infant, lower and middle divisions.  to find out about our latest school, click here. The school at Mahogany Heights now houses standards 4, 5 and 6 - new pictures coming soon!

The community of Mahogany Heights houses people who moved from very sub-standard housing in the City of Belize, with great hopes for their future. There is a high rate of unemployment in the village, and many single parent families struggling to do their best.  Despite the efforts of many villagers, Mahogany Heights remains a place with little in the way of community resource.  We are hoping that the school will become the centre of the community.

Thanks to all of you who enabled us to install bars at St. Agnes Mahogany Heights, and thus protect our small resources from being stolen, and give the children a greater sense of security.  We need to do something similar at St Agnes La Democracia!

These pictures were taken on the inaugration day for St. Agnes, September 2009, and show the children, parents, teachers, our Minister, Hon Patrick Faber and our bishop, Bishop Philip Wright, as well us supporters and friends.

The teachers make a big effort to ensure the classrooms are bright and cheerful and a rich educational environment.  Games, posters and other materials were purchased by teachers from their own meagre resources.

Please join us in giving these children the good start in life that they deserve - the donate button is at the bottom of this page!
